![]() Hammond like tracer can all ways meet engagements that dive onto their team, but he is also looking for flank engagements so he is kind of stretched away from the team. You need to pick something that is more of an anchor to your back line. Just think of it like this, the Hammond player is most likely going to be playing like a tracer spread out over the flanks. In a perfect world a good winston and hammond can alternate between themselves doing back line dives and retreats. To an odd degree if you play a less offensive and more defensive winston it can work pretty well to sort out back line dives while hammond muddles up the other team from supporting those dives. Or even RoadHog for CC against an enemy Hammond. You can be in position faster than anyone else on your team, and then be back to your team before the first set of CDs are ready from the enemy. It is still pretty experimental, but I have seen the best success from the flank-tank method. Basically his sole purpose is to feed support ultimates and make widow useless. Instead of having your own widow to contest theirs you send your hammond on her since his mobility is off CD faster than hers, he can't be headshot, and his engagement range is much farther than either of the other dive tanks. ![]() Right now against the double-sniper meta I see him being run over Zarya in some instances, or in place of the widow with a triple-tank-Hanzo comp. That or you have to have amazing CD tracking. He is very situational, but in those situations he is a terror. These types of plays get cucked by any form of CC. How I am seeing the Hammond-Orisa match up right now is Hammond either forces fortify, or allows his team to take the space she held with her shield, and instead of destroying the shield you blow her CD or make the shield useless. The boop from the front makes them back up, a boop from the back displaces the target into your team, like a roadhog hook. From what I am seeing in scrims Hammond almost operates like a flank tank, and using his boop/slam to displace people to enable your team are key parts of his kit.
